Women’s College Bagbazar one of the oldest colleges in Kolkata which was established on 2nd July 1937, is an undergraduate and postgraduate Women’s College in Bagbazar, Kolkata. Women’s College Calcutta was established by a group of devoted scholars by the direction of Dr. D. L. De with a view of advancing the cause of education among women.Dr. D.L. De was the first principal and secretary of the college. In 1982 the College was shifted by the former principal, Smt. Hena Maitra to the present address.

The College gets affiliated with Calcutta University in the year of 27th April 1940. Women’s College Kolkata Scholarship:

There is a regular student aid fund run by the principal, where 100 percent of aid is given to the students based on their academic performance and financial conditions. Student aid is also funded by the Usha-Ajay foundation. Women’s College Kolkata scholarship is funded by Prof. Arun Kumar Mukherjee.

The PG department running since 1940. In August 2013 it has got the affiliation from the regular postgraduate course from the University of Calcutta. The Women's College Admission process will be online.
