Chandigarh University, has announced the opening of the country's first AI-augmented futuristic campus at Unnao, which is situated in the Lucknow State Capital Region (SCR).
Chandigarh University, India’s No. 1 Private University, has announced the launch of the first-ever AI-augmented futuristic campus in India at Unnao, located in the Lucknow State Capital Region (SCR). This pioneering campus will redefine the educational landscape with a multidisciplinary approach powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) to cater to the needs of 21st-century learners.
With an emphasis on AI integration, the Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh campus will offer 43 undergraduate and postgraduate programs starting from the 2025-26 academic year. These programs, spanning six streams including Engineering, Business Administration, Health and Life Sciences, Humanities, Liberal Arts, and Legal Studies, are designed to provide students with a future-ready skill set in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
The announcement was made during a press conference at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where Uttar Pradesh’s Higher Education Minister, Yogendra Upadhyaya, launched the web portal and prospectus for the new campus. The event was attended by Chandigarh University Chancellor, Satnam Singh Sandhu, MP (Rajya Sabha), Mukesh Jain, Executive Vice President of Capgemini, CU Pro-Chancellor, Prof Himani Sood, and CU Managing Director, Jai Inder Singh Sandhu.
A Milestone for Uttar Pradesh’s Growth
Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a key growth engine for India, with the state projected to become a $1 trillion economy by 2025. This monumental shift is driving the state’s development, and the establishment of Chandigarh University’s AI-integrated campus aligns with the state’s broader ambitions for AI-driven growth.
Yogendra Upadhyaya, Minister of Higher Education of Uttar Pradesh, remarked, “Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as a hub of higher education, with the establishment of 16 new universities and over 250 colleges in underserved regions. The launch of the Chandigarh University campus is a proud moment for us, as it is fully aligned with the state’s vision of fostering technological innovation, especially with the creation of India’s first AI City in Lucknow.”
AI City, a new 70-acre project, is expected to generate 50,000 jobs over the next five years, creating a robust ecosystem for AI-driven careers.

Scholarships and Opportunities for Aspiring Students
In line with its commitment to accessibility and excellence, Chandigarh University is offering scholarships worth Rs 40 Crore through the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) 2025. Additionally, the university will provide the prestigious CV Raman Scholarship, worth Rs 3 Crore, for students pursuing scientific research.
