Get insights into AMCAT, Cocubes, and Elitmus employment tests such as company placements, sectors, salary packages, difficulty, and score validity.
Most freshers want to know just how employable they are. It's how they will understand what prospects they show a lot of talent or skill in and what they need to work on. That's why employability assessment tests are a big deal in India. Out of the few choices that have been provided, the top three are AMCAT, CoCubes, and eLitmus, largely due to their relation to IT.
What is AMCAT, CoCubes, eLitmus?
AMCAT is an adaptive employment evaluation test driven by AI. This artificial intelligence judges candidates based on their communication skills, personality and domain skills, and logical and quantitative reasoning.
CoCubes is an assessment platform that hosts an employment evaluation test that measures a candidate's ability to communicate ideas through written tests and verbal interviews and solve analytical problems. eLitmus is a private company that hires employees for specific jobs. They have achieved this through their carefully constructed 'pH Test' that assesses a candidate's suitability for recruitment. The 'pH Score' is presented in a percentile format and creates comparisons in nation-based pools of candidates.
The question that arises a lot is, 'Which employment test should I do?' Many people don't know the intrinsic differences and similarities between them. We intend to change that with this article. It explains everything you need to know about their differences.
Differences Between AMCAT vs CoCubes vs eLitmus
We've put the comparisons in a summarised table to help you understand how they work. As you can see, the differences aren't substantial except for certain columns, such as the company relations (the number of companies to which they offer placements).
Below are the difference between AMCAT, CoCubes, and eLitmus.
Name | Difficulty | Costs | Score Validity | Average Salary Package |
Company Relations
|
AMCAT | Medium | 1,200 + GST | 1 year | 4 LPA | 700+ |
CoCubes | Medium | 1,199 | 1 year | 4.3 LPA | 400+ |
eLitmus | High | 1,003 | 2 years | 5.5 LPA | 300+ |
To get more granular, we've discussed the differences between each employment test individually, based on their topics worth exploring. So, let's start with each in detail.
Company Opportunities
Since AMCAT is partnered with approximately 700+ companies across the globe, it's safe to say that AMCAT is one of the most popular choices among those looking for jobs. It prioritises the IT sector, with approximately 300 candidates being hired based on their AMCAT scores alone. The test can also be used for On-Campus hiring processes. To name a few, the list of companies hiring through AMCAT are:
- Deloitte
- SBI Bank
- Tata Motors
- ITC Infotech
- Accenture
Since its inception in 2005, CoCubes has grown to become one of the major employability tests. If you're applying for entry-level opportunities in the core, non-IT sectors, then CoCubes is undoubtedly the best option.
It has partnered with companies such as:
- Microsoft
- Barclays
- HSBC Bank
- Maruti Suzuki
- Mahindra
- Flipkart
Out of the other two, eLitmus maintains the least number of partnerships. Nonetheless, thanks to its Hiring Potential test, also known as the pH test, it's still comparable to the likes of assessment tests like AMCAT and CoCubes, respectively. As a result, anyone interested in product-based companies and companies that are willing to offer higher salary packages can't go wrong with eLitmus.
Through this test, one may find yourself applying to companies such as:
- Hewlett Packard
- Dell
- Ericsson
- Accenture
Costs
Getting an application doesn't come without its costs, of course. AMCAT is the most expensive option, with the exam fee starting at INR 1,200 excluding GST, whereas eLitmus is the cheapest option available to students, priced at INR 1,003 including GST. Finally, CoCubes is the only assessment test that stays at a balanced price of INR 1,199 with no GST applied.
Salary Package
As mentioned above, eLitmus takes the entire cake for offering the highest salary packages compared to the other two. Their average package stands at approximately INR 5.5 Lakhs per annum, with the highest package going up to INR 22 Lakhs per annum.
CoCubes offers its average packages for around INR 4.3 Lakhs per annum, with AMCAT coming in last with approximately INR 4 Lakhs per annum.
However, CoCubes offers the highest package compared to eLitmus, about INR 24 Lakhs per annum. To beat out its own competition regarding offers, AMCAT would have to bump up its highest package to more than its current value, which stands at around INR 14 Lakhs per annum.
Syllabus and Exam Pattern
AMCAT challenges your knowledge of Reasoning, Aptitude, and English, along with an added computer language module attached to it, so your knowledge of certain programming languages will be tested. This module is optional.
- Analytical Reasoning, English and Domain-specific Tests, and Quantitative Reasoning are all part of the syllabus for CoCubes.
- Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning are the main focus of eLitmus' syllabus.
The other interesting part about these exams is that AMCAT and CoCubes are the only ones without a score-marking system.
Difficulty Level
CoCubes is difficult because it showcases difficulty through its complex questions, like eLitmus, and its constricting time management opportunities, similar to AMCAT.
Although eLitmus provides tricky questions, it offers up to 2 hours for the student to finish up with 200 questions. AMCAT provides applicants with simpler, more formulaic questions, but they must be completed in a short period of time.
Score Validity
AMCAT has a score validity period of 3 years, followed by eLitmus, which has 2 years of validity. Finally, we have CoCubes which only offer up to 1 year of validity. After the validity period is finished, the scorecards will no longer be valid, and you would have to renew them by re-applying for another exam.
What is the Best Pick for a Graduate?
If you're a fresher, you may choose the appropriate assessment test depending on what you aim to achieve. For instance, if you want to land a job that pays more, then your focus should either be on eLitmus or CoCubes. However, AMCAT graduates have higher chance of receiving calls from companies, even if their scores are low.
It also depends on the kind of company you want to join, and which one in particular. If you're pursuing IT-based jobs, we recommend taking up AMCAT since they have connections with largely IT-based companies. You may take a look at AMCAT's official website if you'd like to know anything more such as what AMCAT is, how to apply for it, score checks, the procedure for professionals, personality tests and questions, whether it's worth it, and if it's useful and much more.
CoCubes is best for those with a knack for core or product-oriented jobs. Their official website will present you with exam results, a list of companies they are connected with, a knowledge hub, question formats, and so on.
Although eLitmus is also strong in the IT sector, do keep in mind that it's difficult to write the exam, but the opportunities also appear often, but not frequently. Check out the official eLitmus website to know about what eLitmus is in general, some preparation tips, and preparation websites, amongst other things.
Conclusively, we can only say that the best exam for you depends entirely on what you want to gain from it.
