Around 5216 seats are available per the BHU seat matrix 2023, under various courses in Arts, Social Science, Commerce, out of which 756 seats are reserved at BHU main campus for BA (Hons) Arts.
BHU seat matrix 2024 for UG courses is up to 5216 seats. The seats are segregated into separate BHU colleges and courses, per the reservation criteria and cutoff for the academic year. Additionally, the BHU 2024 reservation criteria for SC and ST category is 15% and 7.5%, respectively. Students interested in seeking admission can register by June 2024.

BHU Reservation Criteria for UG Courses
According to Banaras Hindu University, candidates will be assigned seats based on the category-wise-seat reservation policy laid down by authorities. The below pointers show the percentage of seats reserved under each category.
Scheduled Caste
Under the SC category, 15% of seats are reserved for BHU UG admission in 2024.
Scheduled Tribe
Banaras Hindu University authorities have reserved 7.5% of seats for ST category candidates.
Other Backward Classes
Candidates from OBC (excluding under creamy layer) categories must note that there are 27 seats reserved under the BHU Seat Matrix 2024.
EWS
Around 10% of seats are reserved under the EWS category, per the BHU seat matrix 2024.
Physically Challenged
Candidates must note that the physically challenged category has a 5% reservation according to the BHU seat matrix 2024. The break-up of the same is listed below.
- Blindness - 1%
- Locomotor Disability -1%
- Deaf - 1%
- Autism - 1%
- Learning Disorder/Mental Diseases - 1%
BHU Employee Wards
BHU supernumerary wards are admitted under the 15% supernumerary seats.
Paid Seats
Under the BHU seat matrix 2024, the number of paid seats does not exceed more than 15%.
ICAR Seats
ICAR seats are reserved for B.Sc Honors Agriculture with upto 15% of supernumerary seats.
Sports Category
Under the sports category, 10 seats are reserved for the Arts, Science and Social science departments. At the same time, 5 seats are reserved for Commerce and 4 for Agriculture Faculty.
