The Centralized Admission Process (CAP) is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell for all universities and colleges in Maharashtra. Maha CET B.Tech CAP Registration 2024
The MHT CET CAP counselling registration 2024 has begun on the official website. The CAP Counselling B.Tech registration is conducted in three stages: publishing the information brochure by the State Exam Cell, filling out the CAP 2024 application form by the candidates and finally uploading the necessary documents as a part of the application form.
The step-by-step process to complete the Maharashtra B.Tech CAP counselling registration is given below:
- Step 1: Visit the official website
- Step 2: Click on the New Registration tab.
- Step 3: Enter the MHT CET PCM/PCB or JEE Main details (whichever is applicable) in the first part and complete the form.
- Step 4: Fill in the personal, academic, and communication details.
- Step 5: Upload the relevant documents.
- Step 6: Pay the application fee and submit the form.
Students must keep a printout of the submitted application form and produce the original documents at the time of admission to support the information submitted online. It is important to note that no information change can be made once the application has been submitted. The MHT CET seat allotment will be based on the scores submitted by the candidates.

MHT CET CAP Counselling 2024 Documents Required
Students are required to submit the scanned documents during the online application process and must produce the same documents during the CAP Rounds at the Admission Reporting Centre (ARC). The list of the required documents is given below:
For Indian Nationals:
- Class 10th mark sheet
- Class 12th mark sheet
- MHT CET/JEE Main scorecard (whichever is applicable)
- School Leaving Certificate
- Domicile Certificate (for Maharashtra domicile category)
- Employer Certificate (wards of central government employees)
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)

Maharashtra B.Tech CAP Counselling Merit List 2024
Once the CAP Registration 2024 is concluded, a provisional merit list will be issued containing the temporary ranks allotted by the state based on the scores in the eligible exam (MHT CET or JEE Main). In case of any discrepancy, the students must submit their grievances in the scheduled time frame to change their position on the merit list. The authorities will not entertain any grievances made outside the given dates.
The final merit list will be published taking into account the grievances submitted by the candidates.
It is important to note that the Maharashtra B.Tech CAP counselling merit list does not ensure admission to a particular college/course.
Each institute/competent authority will publish the courses offered, seat intake, and reservation-based seats available for each category accepted during the CAP 2024. The seats are filled as the CAP Rounds are released.
Maharashtra B.Tech CAP Option Form 2024
As soon as the CAP rounds begin the college Option Forms are opened and the candidates can choose up to 300 colleges in decreasing order of preference. The step-by-step process to fill the choices in the MHT CET CAP Option Form 2024 is as follows:
- Step 1: Log in to the official portal using the Application ID and password.
- Step 2: Fill out the MHT CET CAP 2024 Option Form. Use the institute code and fill up to 300 choices in decreasing order of preference (first preference followed by second, third, fourth, and so on). The serial number block on the form indicates the order of preference (eg. No. 1 is the Highest Priority Choice)
- Step 3: Re-enter the Application ID and password and submit the MHT CET CAP 2024 Option Form. Take a printout of the form and keep it safe.
Note: Students are advised to be careful while filling out the option form as no changes can be made once the form has been submitted.
MHT CET B.Tech CAP Counselling Seat Allotment
The MHT CET B.Tech CAP counselling 2024 will be conducted across 3 rounds. For each round, the competent authority will release the sanctioned seats, courses offered, and category-wise seats available.
When the MHT CET B.Tech CAP Round 1 list is released, students appearing in the final merit list will be eligible for admission by filling out the option form. This leads to three scenarios:
- Students are allotted their first preference/allotted the college of choice- In this case, their seat auto freezes and they can proceed with document verification at ARC and complete the admission process by submitting the fees.
- Students are dissatisfied with the allotments- In this case, if the student has not completed the documentation, they are eligible for further CAP rounds (Round 2 and Round 3).
- Students are not allotted any seats- In this case, the students are eligible to appear in the further CAP rounds (Round 2 and 3).
Maharashtra B.Tech CAP Counselling Seat Allotment Stages
The seat allotment during the MAHA-CET CAP Counselling process 2024 is made across four categories: Maharashtra domicile, All India Category, UT of Jammu and Kashmir, and Minority quota candidates.
Under the Maharashtra domicile, based on the Inter-Se-Merit, the stages of seat allotment are as follows:
- All categories (General, SC, ST, EWS, PwD)
- Seat Allotment to Male and Female candidates.
- SBC category students.
- Candidates without any reservation.
- Candidates without any candidature type.
In case the candidates are eligible for more than one category, the seat allotment follows the following order of preference:
- Seat for Orphan candidates.
- Seat for Lady candidates.
- Seat for Persons with Disability Candidates.
- Seat for Defence category candidates.
As soon as the Maharashtra B.Tech CAP Counselling Rounds are released and seat allotment has been made, the students must pay the admission fee for the respective institute and produce the required original documents to secure a seat at the institute/college. In case a student fails to submit the documents his/her candidature will be canceled, irrespective of the stage of the counselling.
