JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2025
Candidates are advised to go through the JEE Advanced Exam Pattern before appearing for the JEE Advanced 2025. The seven zonal coordinating IITs will conduct JEE Advanced under the Joint Admission Board 2025 (JAB 2025).
- JEE Advanced has two papers (Paper 1 and 2). Candidates have to appear for both papers.
- The time duration for both papers is three hours each.
- The question paper will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQ) and numerical questions.
- Three marks will be awarded for each correct answer, and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- The answering medium will be both English and Hindi.
- Candidates applying for admission to Architecture programmes offered by the IITs must be eligible for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2025.

Key Highlights of JEE Advanced 2025
Here are some of the key highlights of the JEE Advanced exam 2025. It will be helpful for candidates to get a proper understanding of the Session 2 exam.
- The total duration of each paper is 3 hours and 4 hours for PwD candidates.
- The on-screen computer clock counter of every candidate will be set on the server.
The countdown timer on the top right side of the computer screen will display the time remaining (in minutes) available for the candidate to complete the examination. - The candidate will not be required to end or submit the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself.
- The question paper will have questions from physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Candidates need to answer questions from each subject (or section).
