MPPSC stands for Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. The notification for MPPSC 2023 exam has been released on Sept 5, 2023. The exam will be conducted for 227 vacancies.
The MPPSC full form is Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. It is a state government-led agency that assists with recruiting candidates for the numerous posts in Madhya Pradesh by conducting competitive and civil services examinations.
The MPPSC 2023 notification has been announced for 227 vacancies on Sept 5, 2023. The application process for the same will be commenced from Sept 22, 2023 and the last date to apply for the same is Oct 21, 2023. The application form will be available on online mode. The exam will be conducted in three phases as prelims- mains-interview round. The examination dates will be announced soon.
MPPSC Eligibility Criteria
MPPSC recruits eligible candidates to various positions of the government. To be eligible, the aspirants have to meet some criteria.
The eligibility criteria for the posts under MPPSC are as follows:
- The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
- The candidate must have a minimum educational qualification of a degree from a recognized university or hold an equivalent qualification.
- The candidate's age should be between 21 and 30 years, with the relaxation of age provided for some candidates belonging to reserved categories and services, etc.
- Male candidates who have more than one wife are not eligible for the posts under MPPSC.
- No female candidates whose marriage is considered void due to husbands having more than one wife are eligible for these posts.
- The male candidate should not have married before the age of 21, while the female candidate should not have married before the age of 18 years.
- The candidate should be in good physical and mental health and fulfill the medical standards provided by the authority.

- The candidates need to click on the 'Apply Online' tab to begin the registration process.
- The candidate will be directed to a new page where they can fill out their application form.
- Fill in the details required like personal details, educational qualifications, etc.
- The candidate has to choose their preference for a post under MPPSC and the exam center, which is available and convenient to them.
- Re-check all the information that is filled in to avoid unnecessary errors.
- Upload the candidate's photograph and signature in JPG format
- The candidate can now move on to the payment or fee section. The candidates who chose only the state services need to pay INR 500, while candidates who belong to the reserved category need to pay INR 250. Candidates who chose both state and forest services need to pay INR 1500, while candidates who belong to the reserved category must pay INR 1000.
- The transaction can be done online via net banking or debit/credit card.
- After the successful transaction, the candidates will receive a confirmation mail, and they can take a printout of the MPPSC application form for further use.

MPPSC Selection Process
The MPPSC selection process consists of 3 stages: the preliminary exam, main exam, and personal interview. The preliminary exam is the first stage of the selection process where candidates who secure the cut off marks can move on to the next stage, which is the main examination. The main examination also includes a cut off procedure that decides whether the candidate is selected for the last stage of the selection process, the personal interview. The personal interview does not include any cut off procedure and is entirely dependent on the candidate's performance. The final merit list decides whether the candidate is selected for the recruitment of the MPPSC post.
History of MPPSC
The MPPSC was formerly known as the Madhya Bharat Commission, functioning for two years between 1954 and 1956. After the reorganization of Madhya Pradesh, a new commission came into existence with the name "Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission" on November 1, 1956. It was formed under Article 315 and Section 118 (2) of the States Reorganization Act, 1956. The headquarters of MPPSC is in Indore.
Functions of MPPSC
The 41st Amendment of the Constitution of India, Article 335 and 336, includes the functions and duties of MPPSC that they are allowed to perform.
The functions of MPPSC are as follows:
- To conduct competitive and civil services examination at a state level.
- To conduct direct recruitment of candidates for the MPPSC posts.
- To promote the staff like the state-level officers in any MPPSC department.
- To transfer the staff in civil and departmental services from one department to another.
