SAMS Odisha Merit List Guidelines
Several instructions and guidelines are curated for the formation of the SAMS Odisha 2021 Merit List. Applicants must read these guidelines carefully to ensure a smooth process. Some of the principles of selection and guidelines are listed below:
- All admissions to streams, colleges, and honors shall be based on merit. When preparing the merit list, marks obtained in the higher secondary (+2) examination will be considered, and weightage and reservation (if applicable).
- The aggregate will be determined if a candidate passes their higher secondary (+2) / equivalent examination compartmentally by taking the average of the marks obtained at both examinations in the subjects/related to both examinations.
- For applicants with the same marks in the +2 council examination and who have opted for the same college and stream (honors/pass), if they are applying for arts/commerce streams, the applicant with the greater score in English will be preferred. The marks in mil determine the selection if the English marks of both applicants are also the same. Similarly, marks in English/chemistry will be the deciding factor for the science stream.
- Once a selected applicant has been notified about the caf intimation letter after the 1st selection, they will be granted only one confirmed seat based on their caf preference choices.
- The choice of subjects for honors (core) will be made through online registration instead of stream-based selection.
- A selection process that strictly adheres to the reservation act of the government of Odisha will be conducted.
