Previously, the university was known as Kota Open University.  Together with a specific center in New Delhi, VMOU has 7 regional centers spread throughout all of the major cities in Rajasthan. Students are permitted to take the exam if they have a minimum of 75% attendance in the sessionals and practicals, as well as 75% in the lectures and tutorials combined. VMOU Admissions

Admissions to VMOU are conducted both online and offline. The results of the qualifying test are used to evaluate admission to all UG and PG programmes (with the exception of B.Ed, MBA, and MCA). For admission to the MBA and B.Ed programmes, the university administers the VMOU MET and VMOU B.Ed entrance tests. Admission to the MCA programme is conducted by a university-conducted entrance exam.

Admissions to the VMOU Ph.D. programme are evaluated by an entrance exam and personal interview conducted by the university. Applicants who have passed the NET, SET, or GATE exams are exempt from taking the entrance exam.

BA Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor of Arts(BA) is a three-year UG course with specializations in General, Gandhi and Peace Studies, Sanskrit, Sociology, Geography, Mathematics, English, Public Administration, History, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Hindi, Education, Urdu, Journalism and Mass Communication, Rajasthani.

• The candidate should have passed HSC from a recognized board in the relevant subjects.

MA Eligibility Criteria

• Master of Arts(MA) is a two-year PG course with specializations in Police Administration, Sociology, Rajasthani, Economics, Psychology, Political Science, Geography, English, History, Hindi, Sanskrit, Education, Public Administration, Mathematics.

• The candidate should have a graduation degree from a recognized university in the relevant subjects.

M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

• Master of Science(M.Sc) is a two-year PG course with specializations in Computer Science, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Geography.

By entering their scholar number or name on the result page, students can check their VMOU results. Each semester's end-of-semester exams for the VMOU are held, often in June and December.
