AMU to Adopt CUET 2022 for UG Admissions: Know More
Aligarh Muslim University has decided to adopt CUET 2022 as a screening mechanism for UG candidates. Internal policies remain unchanged.
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has announced the adoption of the Common University Admission Test as a screening mechanism for its UG admission. According to a statement released by the authority, UG admission 2022 will take place based on CUET 2022 marks. The university made the decision formally at the Academic Council (AC) meeting held on Saturday. Hence, the proposal to consider Common Test for University Admissions (CUET) for its UG Program is officially approved.
Also to add, the AMU’s internal booking policy remains unchanged. This includes the internal quota and all nomination quotas including caste-related quotas, children of alumni, children of university employees, children of Armed Forces who died in combat, and many more remains intact.
Moreover, AMU will not consider the CUET 2022 score for its B.Tech and Postgraduate program. Likewise, the university will manage AMU-based Class 11 admissions, diploma courses, and school admissions independently.
The university has decided to adopt CUET 2022 as a screening mechanism for UG candidates. However, an independent advisory will manage the entire process by taking into account the CUET 2022 score. But the mechanism and advisory rules for the same from the previous year remains unchanged.
The statement issued by AMU also states that exit applicants from madrasas or institutions recognized by AMU will also be eligible to apply for admission under CUET 2022 if they meet the institution’s eligibility criteria. Likewise, CEPECAMI students will also be able to apply for admission under the CUET 2022 score after meeting the eligibility criteria.
