CBSE 12th Results 2022: Number of 90%+ Scorers Dips, Lower Pass Percentage, No Toppers

The first-time implementation of the two-term exams has seen relatively duller results. There has been a striking drop in the number of students who passed the board and also who have scored 90+ percentile. The board was forced because of the pandemic to cancel exams last year and stop conducting exams halfway through 2020.
CBSE 12th Result: Lower Pass Percentage in 2022
The total number of registered candidates for this year’s exams was 14,44,341, out of which 14,35,366 had appeared. Among them, the number of students who passed is 1330662, making the pass percentage for this year’s exams 92.71%. Although this is lower than last year’s 99.37%, it is higher than the preceding years ( 2020 – 88.78%, 2019 – 83.40%).
The girls have outperformed boys this year. 94.54% of girls and 91.25% of boys have passed the exam. Among the transgender students, 100% have passed the exam.

CBSE 12th Result:Fewer Students Score 90%+
The number of students that scored 90%+ marks this year is 1,34,797, which is 9.39% of the students that appeared for the exam. Last year it was more than 10%.
Additionally, there has been a drop in the 95%+ scorers. The number of students with marks 95% and above this year is 33,432, which is less than half of last year’s 70,004. The number for the same in 2020 was 38,686.

CBSE 12th Results 2022: Board Decides No Toppers This Year
“To avoid unhealthy competition,” the CBSE has announced that it will not be publishing a merit list this year. However, merit certificates shall be distributed to the top 0.1% scorers in the various subjects. Several schools have announced that their students have scored 100%, so it’s safe to assume that the top scorers have perfect scores.
CBSE 12th Results 2022: Rise in Compartment Exam Takers
There has been a tenfold rise in the number of students taking the compartment exams this year. It has risen from 6149 last year to 67743 this year. However, this is lower than the 87651 attendees for compartmental exams in 2020 and 99207 eligible in 2019.
