The CBSE Controller of Examination, Sanyam Bharadwaj, addressed the media regarding rumours about the CBSE Datesheet 2023. He clarified that the CBSE Datesheet 2023 for classes 10 and 12 would not be released before December 2022. Furthermore, he announced that the CBSE Class 10 and 12 syllabi is being reinstated to the pre-pandemic syllabus. This means that a 30% cut in the syllabus granted to students in the academic year 2021-22, considering the interruption to classes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, will be revoked. The students attending the class 10 and 12 exams in the academic year 2022-23 will be questioned based on 100% of the syllabus, just as it was for the 2019-2020 batch.
Moreover, officials have clarified that the Board will restore the pre-pandemic single exam format. Candidates who attended the CBSE class 10 and 12 exams in 2021-22 appeared for the board exams in two terms. This strategy was adopted as a stop-gap arrangement considering the uncertainties in the COVID-19 waves. However, now that the pandemic has subsided, the 2022-23 board exams will be held in a single shift, as they used to be pre-pandemic and will not split into separate terms.
Additionally, the Board has released sample papers for candidates to practise with. The sample papers will give the students an idea about the question pattern, the marking scheme for each subject, and the weightage given to topics and questions.
