CBSE Dispute Facility for Class 10 and 12 Board Results 2021 Opens

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officials have announced that the dispute-raising facility for board results is now open. Hence, class 10 and 12 CBSE candidates can now object to their mark sheets by availing this facility. Earlier in the year, CBSE authorities cancelled board examinations for classes 10 and 12 due to COVID-19 constraints. Hence, the board formulated the final results from alternate evaluation criteria in place of exams. Thus, officials evaluated students based mainly on both past academic performance and internal assessments. Consequently, officials have now formed the dispute mechanism regarding possible complaints against the new evaluation framework.

CBSE Dispute Types

The official CBSE notification regarding the marks objection mechanism states four possible types of disputes regarding scorecard errors.

Type 1 and 2 Disputes

Both type 1 and type 2 disputes are in regards to the alternate formulation framework of the board results. Thus, class 10 and 12 students unsatisfied with the 40:30:30 grading ratio approach taken by the board can file objections under these types. To do so, the candidates themselves must request principals of their respective schools to act as representatives. Type one disputes can be filed from 9 to 11 August. Afterwards, the committee will evaluate such objections from 10 to 13 August. Meanwhile, dissatisfied students can send type 2 disputes from 11 to 14 August. CBSE representatives will then reply to type two objections from 12 to 16 August 2021.

Type 3

Type three objections are related to system errors such as incorrect computations or result publications. However, unlike type one or two disputes, the results committee themselves will realise the errors. Thus, it’s not necessary for students to raise flags against type 3 disputes. The board will correct discrepancies in the marks tabulation shortly.

Type 4

The fourth type of dispute is dissatisfaction against the entire results compilation policy. However, the Supreme Court had overseen the CBSE 2021 grading policy due to the COVID-19 board exam postponement and further issues. Thus, candidates with type four disputes must approach the country’s judicial system for such complaints.
