Aurangabad Left Out of CAP: Opinions of Parents & School Principles
Children’s results and admission process worried the parents. Reportedly, a CBSE Class 10’s student’s result and admission to junior college worried her mother. She further added that as SSC results were out in June, she fears that her daughter may not get any desired college or course. CBSE students undoubtedly have a raw deal with no fault of theirs.
In the past, the Centralised Admission Process has ensured a level playing field for CBSE Class XI students. “Aurangabad will reintroduce this,” said the authorities at CBSE schools.
A school principal has remarked that he doesn’t know why the Education Department has removed Aurangabad from the CAP. At the same time, students from other metro cities like Nagpur, Pune, Nashik and other colleges had no problem with CAP. It is surprising to him that only a handful of colleges in Aurangabad have problems with CAP.
Madhukar Deshmukh, the education officer of the secondary section, said that junior colleges would keep 10% seats for CBSE Class XI students. He further added that the colleges would increase the students’ intake capacity depending on the institutions’ request. Colleges will not start teaching for the academic year 2022-23 until the admission of CBSE students.
