Chairman of the UGC Clarifies: No Retest for Students Who Missed the CUET UG 2022 Exam
The Chairman of the UGC stated that no retest will be conducted for students who missed the CUET UG 2022 exam due to change in venue.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has successfully conducted day 1 of phase 1 of CUET UG 2022. However, there were reports of a few students missing their exams or reached late to the center due to a change in venue for the exam.
This led to media houses reporting that students would be allowed to take a retest. These reports were, however, refuted by University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumaras. He released a video message on social media. In the statement, he stated there is a grace time allotted for the CUET UG exam; students are suggested to reach the venue well before the starting time for the exam. So that in case of any confusion and issues, matters can be resolved. Students arriving during grace time will be allowed to sit for the exam. These situations must be avoided.

He also mentioned that on day 1 of phase 1 of the CUET UG, a few students reported to the wrong venue and were later allowed to sit for the CUET UG exam only if they reached their correct center during grace time. However, those students who missed their exams due to technical difficulties may get another chance. He asked students not to get disheartened and to prepare for other entrance exams.
Due to these occurrences, students are always advised to make sure they know their exam centers and address clearly and leave for the center well in advance on exam day. Students must also make sure to carry all the essential documents and id proof.
