CLAT 2022 Registration Window Opens from 1 January
The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will open the CLAT (Common Law Admissions Test) 2022 registration window from 1 Jan 2022.
The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will open the CLAT 2022 registration window from 1 January. Officials have released the notification for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) to inform the aspirants about the exam schedule and the eligibility criteria. The deadline to submit the application forms is 31 March 2022. The exam conducting authority will conduct the CLAT 2022 as a centre based exam on 8 May.
An official statement states that “CLAT 2022 is being held on 8 May 2022. The Consortium has resolved that it will be holding CLAT 2023 on 18 December 2022. Hence, in 2022, the Consortium is conducting two CLAT examinations in the same year.”
NLU conducts CLAT, a national level law entrance exam, for admissions to 5-year integrated LLB and one-year LLM programmes offered by 22 national law universities. The eligibility criteria for CLAT is that candidates should have passed class 12 or an equivalent examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in the case of SC/ST candidates). Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April 2022 are also eligible to apply.
This year, officials have reduced the CLAT counselling fees to INR 30000 from INR 50000. However, the counselling fees will be INR 20000 for candidates who belong to the reserved criteria. Applicants have to submit an application fee using the online payment gateway while filling in the application forms. The CLAT 2022 registration fee is INR 4000 for general category candidates. However, for SC, ST, and BPL candidates, the application fee is INR 3500.
