Female B.Tech Aspirants to Get Scholarships Worth ₹ 2.29 Crore: Saint-Gobain India
Saint-Gobain India and IIITDM has agreed to provide 40 female B.Tech aspirants with educational support of INR 2.29 crores.
Saint-Gobain India and IIITDM Kancheepuram have collaborated to give merit scholarships to female B.tech aspirants.
Education Support Worth INR 2.29 Crores for Female B.tech Aspirants
Saint-Gobain India has announced to provide 40 female B.tech aspirants with educational support of INR 2.29 crores. They will provide this scholarship for 8 years. Moreover, it will encourage girl students from underprivileged backgrounds to apply for admission and pursue B.Tech degrees in engineering.
“Within the global framework of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Saint-Gobain Group in India focuses on specific priority actions under each of the six broad areas. One of which is linked to Community Development. In this endeavour, we are happy to associate with IIITDM Kancheepuram to grant scholarships to girl students. Additionally, there is also an element to pursue an internship in any of the Saint-Gobain businesses in India.” says P Padmakumar, Executive Director- Human Resources and Head-CSR Saint-Gobain, India.
“As per AISHE, the overall enrolment of girls in higher education has consistently been increasing over the years. One of the options even recommended by the Government of India is granting more scholarship programs to supplement the cost of education. Implementing this scheme is expected to enhance the enrollment of more girl students at IIITDM Kancheepuram. This institute is planning to approach other nearby industries for grant of a similar scholarship scheme for girl students,” says Professor DVLN Somayajulu, Director, IIITDM Kancheepuram.
