Maharashtra’s FYJC First Merit List Out : The Much-awaited first merit list for First Year Junior College (FYJC) is finally Out. Students hoping to secure admission in class 12th will get to know the college that have been assign to them. Students will have to confirm admission in allotted college to avoid disqualification from the next round.
Maharashtra’s FYJC First Merit List Out: Distribution of Seats
For the first round of the Common Admission Process (CAP), Total number of seats available are 2,30,937, against which 2,47,907 candidates had filled the form. However, according to the Deputy Director of Education (DyDE), Mumbai, the students need not to worry as ample seats will be available to them.
The difference in the number of seats available and students vying for it, there is no reason to worry. The actual number of seats available for FYJC admission this is year is 3,71,275, which includes the 1,40,348 Quota seats. The Quota is for the applicants belonging to minority, in-house and management. The intake for these quota seats will done at individual college level. According to the officer of dyDE, as many as 14,226 candidates have confirmed their admissions on quota seats. The officer said the colleges might face the problem of vacant seats once the admission process is over. “The is a duplication of applications for CAP and quota admissions. Besides, there are others who may have applied for vocational education (at ITI’s) and polytechnic courses and might end up not taking admissions in junior colleges at all,” added the official.

Students who have been allotted seats in the college of their first preference will have to confirm admission. Candidates failing to do so will be disqualified from the next round.
