Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya: NRTI Vadodara to Become a Central University

In the latest news, Anurag Thakur, union minister of information and broadcasting, informed that The National Rail and Transport Institute (NRTI) in Vadodara is now a Central University. NRTI was earlier a deemed-to-be-university and is now a Central University. Fortunately, the cabinet approved the decision to make NRTI a Central University. It will become the second Central University in Gujarat after the Central University of Gujarat (CUG) after the official set up of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya.

Ministers also added that Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya would have more capacity to admit students. They will also increase the number of courses compared to NRTI.
This initiative will benefit the country’s youth and the people of Gujrat. Furthermore, the minister added that the university would indulge in skill training and research. The university’s goal is to expand the transportation sector in India. It will also provide highly trained personnel and state-of-the-art technology.
Current courses at NRTI include BBA in transportation management, BSc in transportation technology, and MSc in railway system engineering and integration. Jaideep Bhatnagar, principal spokesperson of the government of India, in his latest tweet, said that the cabinet has already approved the setting up of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya in Vadodara, Gujarat. He further added that Central University’s vision is to expand the transportation sector in India. It will provide the country with state-of-the-art technology and highly trained personnel.
