Haryana state officials have announced the re-opening of state universities for several essential academic activities. These will include student query-clearing facilities, laboratory practicals, practical assessments, and physical examinations. The state has announced this decision in light of certain practical aspects of programmes being neglected through online learning. However, officials have ensured that these re-opened environments will strictly adhere to official social distancing requirements and other safety measures. Furthermore, for the convenience of students, hostel and dormitory facilities will be open only for those appearing for in-person examinations.
The state has also allowed the vice-chancellor of Delhi National University to hold the Haryana Common Law Admission Test on 23 July 2021. Thus, the state has announced readiness for college entrance exams to occur within the state shortly. Additionally, the state’s training centres overseen by the Haryana Skill Development Mission will re-open soon. Government and private coaching institutes and libraries will resume physical operations as well. However, all institutions and organisations must strictly follow the COVID-19 safety measures.
Additionally, offline classes will begin for Haryana classes 9 to 12 from 16 July 2021. However, the mode of learning will be blended, as online classes will continue and physical attendance will not be mandatory. Summer vacation for classes 6 to 8 will begin from 23 July. Thus, in-person classes will likely commence in the next academic year. Furthermore, the government has not made a decision regarding classes 1 to 5. However, primary schools will likely re-open later in the year due to the vulnerability and general lack of major assessments for younger students.
Haryana COVID-19 Lockdown Relaxation
State authorities had extended the Haryana lockdown until 19 July 2021. However, the state has drastically relaxed the initial lockdown guidelines. Recently, the volume of daily COVID-19 cases has dropped sharply to 50. Additionally, COVID-19 casualties have also severely dropped. Hence, the state seems amenable to returning to normal operations soon.
