Officials had announced a new syllabus for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) on 24 November on the official website.
Officials had announced a new syllabus for the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) on 24 November. Hence, JEE Advanced 2023 will follow the new syllabus, available on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. However, the revised JEE Advanced syllabus is not for candidates appearing for the exam in 2022.
The exam is an entrance test for the premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Authorities conduct the exam in three subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Hence, there has been a change of syllabus for all three subjects. Officials have divided the Physics section into general, Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Electricity and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics and Modern Physics. Similarly, Chemistry is divided into the States of Matter: Gases and Liquids, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, and Molecular Structure. Finally, the Mathematics section includes Sets, Relations & Functions, Algebra, and Matrices.
Joint Entrance Examination Advanced is the only entrance exam for admission to undergraduate courses in the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Through JEE (Advanced), IITs offer admission into undergraduate courses leading to a Bachelors, Integrated Masters or Bachelor-Master dual degree in Engineering, Sciences or Architecture. Institutes award both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees to candidates enrolled in the dual degree programs upon successful completion of the course curriculum.
To be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced, candidates have to first qualify for the Mains, a national-level entrance exam for engineering, including institutions such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). Only the top 2.5 lakh rank holders in the JEE Main are eligible to appear in the JEE Advanced. This year, authorities conducted the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced 2021 on 3 October and declared the result on 15 October. Mridul Agarwal from Jaipur, in the IIT Delhi zone, was the topper.
