About JEE MAIN
Students wanting admission to engineering colleges in India appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). There are two phases of the entrance exam, JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is the first of the examinations. Only those students who pass the exam while satisfying the cut-off can enter the second round, JEE Advanced.
Most IIT colleges prefer JEE Advance scores for their admissions, and colleges of NITs, IIITS, and states governments have admissions open for both the categories of pass-out students. JEE Main, one of the toughest entrance exams globally, has more than 9.2 lakh applicants fighting in this examination every year, but only the top 2.45 lakh rankers are selected for the JEE Advanced exam.
