JEE Main 2023 State Code of Eligibility refers to the code for the state in which the candidate has completed or will complete their class 12, making them eligible for admission through the JEE. The state of eligibility does not necessarily have to be the native place, permanent address, or place of residence of the candidate.
The NTA received requests from several candidates for a chance to edit/modify their State Code of Eligibility and Category in the JEE Main 2023 Application Form for session 1. On Jan 31, the parent of one of the candidates took to Twitter to address the issue of the wrong state of eligibility on his daughter's admit card. He said his daughter had completed her class 12 from Chandigarh, but her permanent address is in UP. But the admit card showed that the state of eligibility is UP. The issue was that there was no column for filling in the state of eligibility in the application form during the application window.
Candidates must make the necessary corrections before the JEE Main 2023 Application Correction deadline. This will be their final opportunity to make any corrections before the release of the JEE Main Result 2023.
