JEE Main 2023: New Eligibility Requirements by NTA for Jan & April 2023 Applicants
The JEE Main 2023 registration process will begin soon. Candidates must take note of the new eligibility criteria laid down by the NTA after the pandemic.
JEE Main 2023: The NTA was supposed to begin the registration process for JEE Main 2023 earlier last week. However, the process has not yet begun for interested candidates. The National Testing Agency administers the examination for admission into b.E/B.Tech and B.Arch/B. Plan courses across IITs, NITs and other government-funded and aided institutes in India.

Newest Addition to the JEE Main 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Since the pandemic, the NTA has issued new criteria for JEE Main 2023 applicants.
- A Valid Citizenship Identification - To take the JEE Main exam 2023, applicants must hold a valid ID with them, be they an Indian citizen or foreign. Indian candidates must produce their Aadhar or Voter ID, whereas foreign candidates must submit their passports and valid visa details.
- Guidelines for Applicants of Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya and Assam - Candidates from these states must select their exam centres in their state. Apart from this, they must submit their passport number, ration card details, bank account number or any other government ID number.
- Class 12 Marks Not Applicable - The candidate's performance/score in the Class 12 exam will have no significant contribution, as weightage will be given to the JEE Main 2023 entrance exam performance. However, for admission at NITs, IIITs, IITs and CFTIs, general and OBC category candidates must have scored a minimum of 75% in their Class 12 board exams. Also, other reserved category candidates to wish to pursue their choice of course at the institutes mentioned above must score at least 65% in their Class 12 examinations.
Besides this, the NTA will follow the usual eligibility requirements, as in previous years.
