Officials from the National Testing Agency (NTA) report that on the first day of the JEE main exam 2023, 95.32 percent of students were present, and on the second day, 96.08 percent were. The JEE main 2023 will also be given on Jan 28, 29, 30, 31, and Feb 1.

"On the first day, in both shifts, Maharashtra had the second-highest number of candidates (17,249) and the most examination centers (54), followed by Andhra Pradesh (20,066). Each state had one testing location: Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Lakshadweep, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Puducherry, according to a senior NTA official.
Similarly, Andhra Pradesh had the most participants on the second day (19,173) with 40 exam sites, followed by Maharashtra (16,841) with 53 exam sites. Each state had one testing location: Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Puducherry, and Sikkim.
The exam is conducted in 13 languages, i.e., English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. JEE Main 2023 is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at participating state governments, NITs, IIITs, other centrally supported technical institutions, and institutions or universities. Additionally, it serves as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is held for IIT admission.
