JEE Main 2023: PIL Filed at HC Seeking Postponement of Jan Exams
A PIL has been filed seeking postponement of JEE Main 2023 January session exam. Activist Anubha Sahai has filed the petition for the 75% criterion.
JEE Main 2023: Per news sources, Activist Anubha Srivastava Sahai has filed a petition at the January session. The PIL has been filed since several boards are conducting the pre-board examination next month. Apart from this, the plea has been filed for the 75% criterion to be eligible for JEE Main 2023.
Earlier, on Twitter, students began requesting authorities to postpone JEE Mains and remove the criterion of 75% for droppers. The NTA announced the exam dates for JEE Main 2023 on Dec 15, 2022. Accordingly, the exams will occur in January and April over two phases. Afterwards, students started demanding the exam postponement due to a shortage of time for preparation.
The PIL suggested the eligibility of 75% in Class 12 to appear for JEE Main will hamper the future of lakhs of students, who would probably score well in the JEE Main exam 2023, but did not score 75% in their board exams.

Last year, authorities removed the criteria due to the pandemic. Other than that, pre-boards, practical exams, vivas and more are scheduled in January 2023. As a result, only a few students will be able to appear for the January session due to clashing exam events.
On the other hand, the very limited time to prepare for the JEE Main 2023 exam has left students perplexed, as authorities used to earlier announce the JEE Main dates at least 3 months before the scheduled date.
