KCET Merges With COMED-K: Combined Exams to Be Held Nationwide
The Karnataka Government finalizes that KCET Merges With COMED-K from 2023. Additionally, students can take the exam nationwide.
According to Bangalore Mirror, The KCET-Karnataka Common Entrance Test (cetonline.karnataka.gov.in) will take nationwide. From 2023, the State of Karnataka will integrate the COMED-K (comedk.org) admissions test with the State Common Entrance Test. The government’s plan to merge both the exams will reduce the strain of students having to take multiple exams. Therefore, students will prepare for one exam as KCET Merges With COMED-K.

KCET Merges With COMED-K: Understanding the Merger
C N Ashwath Narayan, the state’s higher education minister, has reached out to the private universities. If the universities agree, the government is prepared to hold the KCET exam all over India. According to Ashwath Narayan, private colleges have separate admission exams to fill management quota seats. At the same time, KCET ranks are used to fill government quota seats.
Furthermore, last Thursday, June 30, the education minister met with the chancellors and vice-chancellors of private colleges and universities. PES university chancellor Jawahar Doreswamy says separate exams are held for management quota seats because KEA is not holding national-level exams.
The Karnataka Government will merge The Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET) and the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) from the academic year 2023.
