Kerala Plus One Board Exams Postponed Until 13 September
The Supreme Court has officially postponed the Kerala Plus One board exams, which were to take place from 6 September 2021.
The Supreme Court has officially postponed the Kerala Plus One exams, which were to take place from 6 September 2021. The SC has deferred the state-level board assessments due to the rapidly rising cases of COVID-19 within the state. This sudden increase, alongside other factors, posed the offline exams as an undue risk. Thus, the pertinent authorities requested state officials to postpone the plus one exams until further notice to find an alternative solution. The hearing will resume on 13 September, when Kerala and Supreme Court officials finalise the shared decision. Thus, until then, the state will defer their class 11 assessment.
The hearing and subsequent deferment order occurred due to a special leave petition filed by Rasoolshan A. The citizen had petitioned against the reluctance of the state government’s High Court regarding in-person exams. The petitioner was represented in court by Advocate Padmanabhan. Padmanabhan played a notable role in the tribunal, strongly contending against the state conducting the tests. A central argument brought up throughout the hearing was the extreme youth of the 11th class candidates. The pandemic situation within the state is critical, with over 30,000 cases per day. Furthermore, the majority of the three lakh students registered to write the exams are unvaccinated due to their age.
