KVPY Fellowship Cancelled, DST to Club KVPY with INSPIRE Fellowship

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, the KVPY fellowship, has been discontinued by the Department of Science and Technology; the Government of India, through the existing KVPY fellows, will continue to receive the benefits for the same. The DST plans to club KVPY, the national fellowship program with INSPIRE fellowships for students aspiring to Basic Science courses. The fellowship will be granted upto the Pre-PhD degree level to the shortlisted scholars. The ongoing fellows of KVPY will receive fellowships as stated on the official website.

Eligibility Criteria for INSPIRE Fellowship
- The candidate should have secured a minimum of 70% marks in CGPA for MSc/ Integrated MS/ MSc course.
- The applicants should be 1st rank holders in PG degree level exams from an accredited university/institute of India in the primary science stream.
- The applicant should hold the first rank in graduation/postgraduation in Medicine subject from any recognized university or institute in India.
- The candidate should have acquired the first rank in the basic or applied science program with a batch of a minimum of 7 students.
- A minimum of 70 % marks are required for the entire program or degree course to qualify for INSPIRE fellowship.
DST invites applications for INSPIRE research fellowship from 1st July to 15th August. The fundamental objective of this program is to shortlist students having research interests and academic potential and encourage them to do their best in research careers. The purpose is to use their brilliant scientific minds for research and development in India.
