MCC Issues Notice for Participating Candidates of NEET 2022 Counselling
The Medical Council Committee (MCC) has issued a notice for candidates and states participating in the NEET 2022 counselling process.
The Medical Council Committee (MCC) has announced that the candidates who have joined round 2 of the All India Quota (AIQ) or state quota will not be eligible to participate in further rounds for AIQ or state quota from the academic year 2022-23 onwards.
MCCs notification reads, “In compliance with the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India vide order dated 31/03/2022 in W.P. (C) No. 174 of 2022, Medical Counselling Committee of DGHS, MoHFW has developed a software for all the participating states/counselling authorities for NEET-UG/PG to upload the names and roll numbers of students who have joined up to round 2 and further rounds of the state quota or round 2 of the AIQ on the common portal.”
“These joined candidates up to round 2 of AIQ, or State Quota shall not be eligible to participate in the further rounds for All India Quota or State Quota from the academic year 2022-23 onwards,” added the notification.

Background of the Notification
On 31 March 2022, the Supreme Court cancelled the AIQ mop-round of NEET PG 2021 counselling and asked MCC to hold a special round of counselling for 146 additional seats, which became available after the AIQ Round 2. The top court also directed MCC to conduct a fresh round mop-up round, barring candidates who had joined in round 2 of the state quota from participating.
