NEET PG 2023: The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) Mansukh Mandaviya stated in a statement to the Lok Sabha today, Feb 10, that NEET PG 2023 will not be postponed.
Accordingly, the NEET PG exam 2023 will be held on Mar 5, as scheduled earlier.
The health minister informed the Lok Sabha speaker that "To ensure that all students across the nation are eligible to take the exam, the government recently extended the internship cut-off date to Aug 11, 2023. As announced 5 months earlier, NEET PG 2023 exam will be held on Mar 5, as scheduled".
He further stated that “It is important to prevent NEET PG 2023 postponement due to COVID-19 and hence I have informed the students' delegation about why the exam will not be rescheduled”.
The national head of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), Rohan Krishnan, responded to Mansukh Mandaviya's remark by asking: "Why does only one batch suffer the most as a result of COVID? Emergency procedures have "TRIAGE" protocols, while pandemic recovery procedures have "Damage Control Protocols."
On Feb 9, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) reopened the NEET PG 2023 application window for applicants who met the new cut-off date for MBBS internship eligibility.
Candidates who finish their internship by Aug 11 can register for the exam by February 12.
