National Means cum Merit Scholarship 2022 Registration Deadline Revised: Apply Till October 15
The last date for submission of application for the National Means cum Merit Scholarship scheme (NMMSS) for the year 2022-23 extended till Oct 15, 2022.
The deadline to apply for the National Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) for the academic year 2022–2023 has been extended to Oct 15, 2022.
Every year, one lakh new scholarships are given to deserving students in the ninth grade, and they are renewed or continued for students in the tenth through the twelfth grade attending state government, government-aided, and local body schools. Scholarships are given to deserving students from economically disadvantaged groups as part of the "National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme" in an effort to prevent class 8 dropouts and encourage them to pursue secondary school.
The NMMSS is boarded on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) - a one-stop platform for scholarship schemes given to students. The amount of the scholarship is INR 12,000 per annum.
Students can apply for the scholarships if their parental combined annual income is less than INR 3,50,00. For the purpose of the scholarship selection test, students must have achieved at least 55% marks (or equivalent) in their Class 7 examination (with a 5% relaxation for SC/ST students). The final date for INO level (L1) and DNO level (L2) verification is Oct 31, 2022 and Nov 15, 2022, respectively.
NMMSS scholarships for 2022 are paid out electronically using the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) in the DBT manner, directly into the bank accounts of selected students. This program is entirely supported by the government.
