NEET 2022: Candidates Appeal to Authorities for Postponing Exams
Candidates have appealed for NEET 2022 to be postponed, amid clash with other exams like CUET & JEE. NEET is currently scheduled for July 17.
NEET UG 2022 Deferment Front, a group of NEET aspirants, recently made a public appeal to defer NEET 2022. The association has written to the President of India, the NTA, and the education ministry. The association has asked to postpone the exam to late August or early September. Candidates can log in to nta.ac.in/medicalexam for more information.
The front stated that their request is because of the short gap between NEET and other important exams. They have also stated the short timespan between NEET counseling 2021 & NEET 2022 exams as another reason for the request. The short timespan available for preparation had stressed students.

NEET 2022 Clashing with Other National & State-level Exams
As of now, NTA will conduct NEET on July 17. NTA will also conduct CUET or the Central University Entrance Test in July’s first or second week. They will conduct JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) on July 20. The authorities will also conduct AP EAMCET between July 14 & 20. AP EAMCET stands for Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test. Because of this, the students have appealed to postpone the NEET UG 2022.
In 2021, the authorities conducted the NEET on September 12. Then they announced the results on November 1. But, the counseling went on for more than 6 months, the reason being the pending EWS quota case in the Supreme Court. Otherwise, they would have finished the NEET UG counseling in 2 or 3 months. The administration completed NEET-UG 2021 in the first week of April. Meanwhile, counseling is still going on in some other states for courses like BAMS and BDS.
The NEET (UG), earlier called the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is a pan India medical entrance test. One can wish to pursue undergraduate medical (MBBS) and others like dental (BDS) and AYUSH (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, etc.) courses in much top government and private institutions in India.
