NEET Counselling 2023: New Regulations Regarding Medical College Assessment and Rating Announced

NEET Counselling 2023: Under the new regulations introduced by the National Medical Commission (NMC), only the latest annual assessment results and ratings of medical colleges and institutions will be publicly available on the NMC's official website. Unlike the previous practice of publishing complete inspection, assessment reports, and historical data, the NMC will now focus on providing assessment results that promote public understanding and consumption. New regulations related to the NEET Counselling 2023 are mentioned below.

These newly-notified regulations pertain to the establishment of new medical institutions, the introduction of new medical courses, and the increase in seats in existing medical colleges. They were officially announced on Jun 2 and published on the NMC website on June 8, following a comment period in Feb 2023. According to the NEET Counselling 2023  notification of MCC, two additional counselling rounds will be conducted for BDS and B.Sc Nursing programs

The NMC emphasizes that no medical institution will be granted permission unless it meets the specified conditions related to physical infrastructure, teaching staff, clinical material, and hospital facilities. The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) will determine the appropriate assessment or inspection method before granting permission to establish a medical institution.

While the NMC Act of 2019 mandates the MARB to make assessments and ratings of medical institutions available regularly, the latest regulations specify that only the latest annual assessment results and ratings of medical colleges or institutions will be made accessible on the NMC website or in the public domain. 

 NEET Counselling 2023 will tentatively commence from the third week of Jun 2023, after the exam results are declared. Furthermore, the official dates for the NEET UG counselling 2023 will be announced by MCC soon
