NEET PG 2022 Postponement Request Denied, Exam to Be Held on May 21
Students had demanded NEET PG 2022 to be delayed due to lack of preparation time & non-eligibility of many students still interning.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will conduct NEET PG 2022 on May 21, it announced recently. The decision comes in light of widespread demands to postpone the exam. Students demanded to postpone the exam for two months, as many have not yet completed their internships, and NEET-PG 2021 counselling has finished recently, leaving little time for preparation.
NBE will conduct NEET-PG 2022 on May 21, 2022, between 9 AM to 12:30 PM. The authorities will issue NEET PG admit cards shortly. Applicants can check for the availability of admit cards on natboard.edu.in and nbe.edu.in periodically.
NBE also clarified that it does not send any SMS or email to candidates regarding scoring well in any exams of theirs. “Candidates are advised not to be allured or misled by unscrupulous agents Routs making such false and bogus claims,” said the NBEMS Notice.
Reasons for Requesting to Postpone NEET PG 2022
Firstly, the counselling for NEET PG 2021 has finished on May 3, leaving little time for studying. Also, more than 5000 medical interns nationwide have not yet completed their internship, thus being ineligible for the test. Students from Kerala, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir & Jharkhand have not yet completed their internships. The delay in completion has happened due to the recent pandemic.
Postponing the exam, students believe, will allow them to prepare better and let the interns from the states mentioned attempt the exam this year itself.
