NEST 2022 Application Closes on May 18: Check Details & Apply Now

The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) application ends on 18 May 2022. Interested students can register themselves before the deadline on the official website at – nestexam.in. Students are advised to check the eligibility criteria, application steps, and important dates before applying for the exam. (NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and the University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. Both NISER and UM-DAE CEBS were set up by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, in 2007.

NEST 2022 Eligibility Criteria For Admission

Candidates must qualify for all four eligibility criteria listed below:

• Candidates in the Unreserved and OBC categories must have been born on or after August 01, 2002. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ ST/ Divyangjan candidates.
• Class XII qualifying examination must have passed in either 2020 or 2021. Candidates appearing in 2022 are also eligible. (Where only Letter Grade is given by the Board, a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent percentage marks will be required. In the absence of such a certificate, the decision of the respective Admission Committees will be final.)
• The candidate should have scored at least 60% marks (or equivalent grade) in the Class XII examination. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates, and Divyangjan candidates, the minimum requirement is 55%.
• Candidates should secure a position on the NEST merit list.

NEST 2022 Application: Steps

Mentioned below are the steps to apply for the NEST 2022 exam :

• Visit the official website – nestexam.in
• On the homepage, click on ‘Online Registration.’
• Fill in the required details like Name, Contact details, education etc., in the registration form to generate login credentials.
• Using the login credentials, sign in to your account and fill in the other details in the application form; choose the exam city of your preference.
• Upload the scanned images of the documents required
• Now, pay the NEST application fee. The application fee for Male and Transgender candidates in the General/OBC/General(EWS) category is 1200 INR. The application fee for SC/ST/PwD, Supernumerary J&K categories and all Female candidates is 600 INR 
• Verify the details and ‘Submit’ the application form.
