NIT Rourkela Placements 2022: 1,274 Students Get Offers in Record-Breaking Year
This year, 1,274 students have received job offers in the NIT Rourkela 2022 placement session. Further details are given ahead.
During the 2021–22 placement season, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela has broken all of its previous placement records. In the ongoing placement drive, 325 companies provided 1,274 on-campus job opportunities. For NIT Rourkela 2022, twenty students received annual pay packages of INR 46.08 lakh, the highest amount among all, while 138 other students received offers of more than INR 20 lakh.
According to Professor Umesh Pati, Director of the Career Development Centre, NIT Rourkela welcomed about 100 new employers this year. This list included the likes of Apple, Google, and Visa. In addition, a sizable number of significant PSUs, including BPCL, GAIL, EIL, and BEL, also visited this year.
Average Package in 2022 Increased by About 20% at NIT Rourkela
The average package for the institute went from INR 9.36 lakh per year in 2021 to INR 11.20 lakh per year in 2022. The average CTC has thus increased by almost 20%. 403 students, the highest number to date, received distinguished paid internship offers with stipends averaging around INR 40,000. The highest monthly stipend was around INR 1.25 lakh. Among the big names hiring interns were Microsoft, Tata Steel, Barclays, Disney+Hotstar, SAP Labs, and American Express.
NIT Rourkela 2022 Computer Science Department’s B.Tech programme had the highest average CTC of INR 20.88 lakh per year. Software behemoths like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Oracle were among the main recruiters for this course. The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department recruiters like Qualcomm had the second-highest average CTC of INR 17.27 lakh per year.
Software and IT Services Accounted for about a Third of all Employers
Among the various sectors, Software and IT Services (33.28%) have emerged as the top employer, followed by Core Engineering (25%) and Analytics and Consulting (18.72%). The remaining offers come from a variety of industries, including healthcare, finance, education, design, and electronics.
The Department of Mining Engineering had a placement rate of 100%, placing all of its students at top companies. 11 out of 14 B. Tech departments, including those in computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electronics and instrumentation engineering, mining engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, and materials engineering, recorded placement rates of more than 90%. Overall, the institute has already placed 92.99% of its B.Tech students.
375 PG Students Got Jobs with an Average CTC of INR 9.04 Lakhs
The Department of Electrical Engineering had the highest placement rate (87.50%) among postgraduate disciplines. This was followed by the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering (84.48%) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (81.43%). In the placement drive this year, 375 postgraduate students got jobs with an average annual CTC of INR 9.04 lakh.
