No COMEDK, Only KCET from 2023 for BTech and Medical Admissions
The Karnataka Government has decided to merge the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (UGET) exam with KCET.
The Karnataka Government has decided to merge the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Undergraduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET) with the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). Currently, they will hold a single entrance exam from the 2023 session onwards for admissions to engineering, medical and professional courses.

State higher education minister CN Ashwath Narayan made the decision in a meeting with the Federation of Governors of Private Vocational Institutes on Wednesday, 23 June. “Currently, the State Government and Comed-K are conducting a separate General Entrance Examination (CET) for admission to the Vocational Education Course. A consortium of private vocational education institutions has agreed to hold a single CET from next year. The deal will be signed soon,” Narayan said in a tweet.
Officials also decided to increase the fees for admission to engineering and other professional courses by only 10 percent. Although, there was a demand for a 25% hike. “Authorities have taken the decision in accordance with a report by the Committee on charges despite a demand for a 25 percent fee hike,” the minister added.
Meanwhile, COMEDK has released the provisional answer key for COMEDK UGET 2022. Applicants who have appeared for the exam can check their COMEDK UGET answer key through the candidate login. The details required to check the COMEDK answer key are user ID and password. Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has also released the official KCET 2022 answer key on kea.kar.nic.in. Candidates can download the KCET answer key without any login credentials.
