NTA Announces Changes in NEET UG 2023 Eligibility Criteria for OCI Candidates
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced changes in NEET UG 2023 eligibility criteria for Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidates.
NEET UG 2023 Eligibility Criteria: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced changes in NEET UG eligibility criteria 2023 for Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidates.
Previously, OCI cardholders were allowed admission against a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) seat or a supernumerary seat only. According to the new changes in the NEET UG 2023 eligibility criteria, OCI candidates are now eligible for admission to all undergraduate Medical courses according to the rules issued by the authorities.
The NEET UG 2023 information bulletin stated that OCI candidates will be treated as foreigners and will not be eligible for seats reserved for Indian nationals including paid deemed university seats.
The new NEET UG 2023 eligibility criteria for OCI candidates stated that “An Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) will be eligible for admission to the Undergraduate Medical/Dental/Ayurveda/ Unani/Siddha/ Homeopathy Courses in India subject to the rules/regulations/notifications issued from time-to-time by the respective regulatory bodies/Counselling Authorities/Admission Authorities in conformity with the Policy Decision of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) and/or Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).”
