Omicron Concern: Calcutta University to Conduct Semester Exams Online
Calcutta University has decided to conduct  UG and PG level exams online amidst the flight of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus.
Calcutta University has decided to conduct UG and PG level examinations online amidst the flight of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus. They will hold the first, third, and fifth semesters exams in January and February. Calcutta University Vice-Chancellor Sonali Chakrabarty Banerjee said, “As a new variant of COVID-19 has emerged, the syndicate at a meeting decided to conduct the tests in digital mode at present. Classes have already started at UG and PG levels, in over 150 affiliated colleges and on the university campus respectively on alternate dates, both in offline and online modes.”
The VC further said that officials would conduct exams for the third and fifth semesters at the UG level in January. They will also conduct the third-semester exams for PG-level in January. Later, colleges will hold first-semester exams for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in February, she added.
This year, the university will mail soft copies of the question papers to the affiliated colleges on the examination days. They will also upload the questions to their website simultaneously. Furthermore, students can type the answers and mail them to a designated address provided by their college. Additionally, candidates can download the question papers, write the answers on paper, scan the answer sheets and mail them as a PDF file.
