The Supreme Court accepted the plea seeking alternative assessment criteria for the 2022 board exams. Hearing on 23 February 2022.
The Supreme Court accepted the plea seeking alternative assessment criteria for the 2022 board exams. Moreover, the bench led by Justice A.M. Khanwilkar will hear the matter urgently since the MP board exams have already begun. Moreover, CISCE, CBSE, and almost all the state boards will conduct the offline term 2 exams in March-April 2022.
Yesterday, a bench comprising the CJI NV Ramana, Justices AS Bopanna, and Hima Kohli accepted the petition filed by lawyer Prashant Padmanabhan. Furthermore, the bench transferred the petition to a bench led by Justice A.M. Khanwilkar.
Anubha Shrivastava Sahai (an Activist) and students from 15 states filed this plea. The plea seeks the cancellation of CBSE, CISCE, NIOS, and all state board exams. The students and parents are concerned about the safety of the candidates going to appear for the exam. Though many boards have issued strict guidelines to be followed during the exam, it is critical to go out and appear for the offline exams.
The petition demands the formation of a committee to design the new evaluation criteria, the conduct of compartment exams, and the declaration of results on time. The petition also seeks an Improvement exam for students who might be dissatisfied with the alternative evaluation mode.
