TS SSC Board Exams 2023: The government of Telangana has reduced the passing marks from 35 to 20 in all subjects for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) in Classes 6 to 10 and SSC Public Exams, starting with TS SSC Board Exams 2023. However, students with intellectual challenges, particularly autism spectrum disorder and mental illness, will have to score only 10 marks to pass an examination. Additionally, several other exemptions and concessions have been announced for the students.
The CwSN candidates will be allowed a compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour of the exam duration. Hence, for a 1-hour exam, they will be allowed 20 minutes extra, and for a 3-hour exam, they will get an extra 60 minutes. Also, such candidates will be exempted from the jumbling process and will be allotted the same/nearby school as their exam centre.
Students with hearing impairment will be required to study only one language out of three. Children with other specific challenges will have to study and write only one language out of the three. Candidates with visual impairment will be given alternate questions in place of descriptive-type questions based on images/diagrams.
Depending on the examination, candidates may be provided with assistive devices (Braille slate, magnifying glass, abacus, etc.). Moreover, CwSN students will be provided with thicker answer scripts in TS SSC Board Exams 2023 and other exams as well. Certain grammatical mistakes, punctuation errors, graphs, geometry and maps that such candidates make will be ignored.
