Tripura State Education Minister Announces the Foundation for 5 New Colleges in the State: Details Here

Tripura has 22 general degree colleges at present. The state’s education minister Ratan Lal Nath informed that the state would receive five new degree institutions including one English-medium institution for the upcoming academic year.
According to the reports, out of the five colleges, three would be operated by the government, while two, including a law college, will be founded on private initiative. This initiative is taken to lessen the burden on the existing colleges. the government has decided to open three degree colleges at old Agartala and old DIET (District Institute of Education and Training) (English medium) in West Tripura district and Panisagar in Unakto district,” as stated the state’s education minister Ratan Lal Nath.

A West Bengal-based society would build a law school in Jirania, in the West Tripura district, and a degree college in the Kakraban, Gomati district , he continued.
The administration is awaiting approval from the Tripura Bar Council to open the Law College, he said, adding that Tripura Central University has already awarded affiliation to all five degree-granting institutions, including the two private colleges.
The proposed three government-run institutions have taken measures to overcome the lack of teaching staff.
“In total, 38 Assistant Professors have already been hired, and another 40 will be hired soon. In addition, the government intends to engage about 300 guest lecturers to efficiently manage the colleges, the official stated.
