Moreover, the reason behind the announcement was the constant complaints regarding th exam conduction from last year. NTA reduced the number of subject combinations on offer and reviewed the number of cities where the exams are held. Further, all this was done following the measures under consideration, as per the Indian Express report.
In addition, the UGC Chairman stated, "Everything will remain the same this year. There's no change. Students will have the same choices of subjects, the upcoming year will have the same CUET 2023 exam pattern, and it will also be computer-based multiple-choice questions".
Note: Among the various glitches was the delay in the intimation of exam centers, technical glitches, and slow upload of the question paper.
Additionally, the UGC Chairman stated, "14.9 lakh students registered for CUET last year, and that required about 450 centers each day, so this year, we are preparing about 1000 centers. Even if we require about 600 centers per day, assuming that the number may go up, you will still have extra centers as standby so that any glitches and other problems that were there last year will be minimized."
It is advisable for the candidates to regularly check the official website of NTA for further updates on CUET.
