UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2023
Candidates applying can check the age limit along with the educational qualifications required for this recruitment.
Age Limit
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Posts: The age limit is up to 30 years.
- Assistant Professor Posts: No upper age limit is required.
Educational Qualifications
- Candidates from General/Unreserved/General-EWS should have a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from a recognized university.
- Aspirants pursuing their Master’s degree (final year) whose results are pending/delayed can also apply.
- Students who have their PhD degrees and completed their Master's level examinations before Sept 19, 1991, will get a 5% relaxation in the required aggregate marks (50% instead of 55%).
- Candidates having a post-graduate diploma/certificate from an Indian University or any foreign degree/diploma/certificate by a foreign University must verify it with a Master's degree through the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, as per the UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2023.
