UGC Warns Students Against Fake Notice on Offline Semester Exams
UGC warns students against a fake notice claiming to be a UGC notification that says that all universities will conduct semester exams offline.
The University Grants Commission warns students against a fake notice which says that all universities will conduct semester exams offline. However, the Commission has clarified that it has not issued any notification regarding this topic. “A public notice regarding offline examinations in universities is circulating on social media & claims to be issued by ugc_india. This public notice is #FAKE! The University Grants Commission has NOT issued any such notice,” UGC said in a tweet.
Previously, in December 2021, too, PIB warned students against the same fake notice on social media about UGC’s official notification on the conduct of offline semester exams in all universities. Meanwhile, with the DDMA’s decision to allow the reopening of schools and colleges in the state as COVID-19 cases dip, Delhi universities like JNU and IP University have announced the resumption of offline classes from today.
The fake notice reads, “As all the colleges are operating while maintaining Covid-19 protocols, offline exams can be at the home centres”. However, the UGC has not issued any notice on offline exams. Hence, students should keep checking ugc.ac.in for any updates on exams.
