UPMSP, or Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, has published its 2021-2022 academic calendar. According to the schedule, board examinations for classes 10 and 12 will occur in the first two weeks of March 2022. However, practical exams for classes 11 and 12 will happen in two phases in January 2022. Afterwards, pre-board examinations will take place in the first and second weeks of February 2022.
In addition, the calendar introduces a new monthly unit assessment system for the new academic year. The assessments aim to facilitate an understanding of academic performance throughout the year. Furthermore, schools will share scores from the exams with the board every month. Moreover, the Uttar Pradesh board will conduct internal assessments for both classes 9 and 10 in late August, October, and January. Internal exams will feature objective multiple-choice questions.
Furthermore, the report noted that the board will assess students through four exam levels – monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annually. The first quarter exam will take place in the last two weeks of September 2021. Afterwards, officials will conduct the half-yearly exam in the second and third week of December 2021. Due to changes in the assessment criteria for the 2021-2022 school year, officials will ensure the prompt release of results. Additionally, changes have been made to make cross-checking of scores easier.
Due to the uncertainty placed by the COVID-19 resurgence in India, several exam boards had stalled the publication of the academic calendar for 2021-2022. Hence, the Uttar Pradesh board schedule is not entirely final and could be subject to future changes if necessary.
