Earlier, on 8 June 2021, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee declared the cancellation of the 2021 10th and 12th board exams. This repeal was due to the COVID-19 pandemic in light of the health and safety of students and faculty. More than 8 lakh class 12 students applied to write the board exams in 2021.
For 2021, the West Bengal exam board has formulated alternative criteria to assess the class 12 students. Hence, class 12 students will obtain scores from their academic performance in their class 10 board exams from 2019. Additionally, scores will feature weightage from the class 11 final assessments. Finally, projects and practical assignments in class 12 will add marks to the HSC final grades.
After 3 PM on 22 July 2021, the exam board will publish the class 12 final results online. Later, students should download and print out the available mark sheets for future reference. The online scorecard will act as a provisional marksheet until the board can distribute the physical copies later. Hence, a majority of universities will accept the provisional results.
