AI as India’s Growth Engine
In his keynote address, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak highlighted India’s AI advancements, emphasizing the $1.25 billion investment that supports the nation’s AI ecosystem. He reiterated that India is one of the top 10 AI-ready nations, drawing attention to the increasing investments from global giants like Microsoft, Google, Nvidia, and Amazon. Pathak also showcased AI’s far-reaching impact, from content creation to industries like manufacturing, logistics, and surveillance.
The Deputy CM’s speech underscored AI’s role in driving India’s economic growth. AI’s contribution to India’s GDP is projected to reach up to $1.5 trillion by 2030. He also announced the development of India’s first AI city in Lucknow’s Nadarganj area, which will span 70 acres and create over 50,000 AI jobs over the next five years. This is a monumental step toward transforming Uttar Pradesh into an AI hub.

With AI adoption set to add $90 billion to the Indian economy by 2025 and create 47 lakh jobs by 2028, Sandhu emphasized that AI will be central to the future of both education and the workforce. He further explained that Chandigarh University, situated near India’s first AI city Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh is uniquely positioned to equip students with the skills needed to thrive in this rapidly changing landscape.
