College Boreal was initially announced as a French-language college in Northern Ontario in 1993. It was officially founded in 1995.

The tuition fee for international students might vary on the basis of the programs chosen by them. The tuition fee is on an average of $15,846 but it might change annually. International students need to pay between $6,180 and $9,580 per quarter and also pay for their health insurance.

In order to get admitted to any of the 5 technical programs, an application form must be completed on the regional admission website called SRAM. The official documents must be submitted during application along with an application fee of $85. If the application is successful confirmation will be received by email.
The students have to pay additional expenses along with the basic tuition fees. These are for the services provided by the college. Some of the other fees include Health and Hospital insurance of $936, Books and school materials for around $500 - $1,000, Housing for $4,200, and Transportation for $1,380 per year.
